We build Tare on a foundation of behavioral intelligence and trust. We do not sell your data. Ever.

- Account Data: Email address, display name, and authentication credentials (via Supabase Auth).
- Profile Data: Your identity statement (“Who you want to become”) and other profile preferences.
2.2 Behavioral & Habit Data
- Habit Details: The names and types of habits you choose to track.
- Check-in Data: Verbatim text entries from your conversational check-ins, including journal-style reflections.
- AI-Extracted Metadata: Structured data extracted from your text by our AI models, such as completion status, mood scores, energy levels, perceived friction, and emotional tone.
- Contextual Tags: Information like “late meeting,” “poor sleep,” or “stressed” derived from your entries or manually tagged.
2.3 Technical Data
- Device Information: Device type, operating system, and unique device identifiers.
- Push Tokens: Used to send you contextual nudges and reminders.
- Usage Logs: Event-level data about how you interact with the App (via PostHog).
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide Core Features: Enable habit tracking, conversational check-ins, and identity anchoring.
- Generate Insights: Analyze your behavioral patterns to provide “Aha moments” via our Trigger Mapping Engine and Cascade Analysis.
- Deliver Personalized Nudges: Use predictive models to send interventions at high-risk moments.
- Synthesize Weekly Reports: Create a narrative summary of your week tied to your identity.
- Improve the App: Use aggregated, de-identified data to refine our AI models and user experience.
- Communicate with You: Send technical notices, updates, and support messages.
4. How Your Information is Shared
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal or behavioral data. We only share information in the following circumstances:
4.1 Third-Party Service Providers
We use trusted third-party services to power Tare. These providers only process your data as instructed by us:
- Anthropic (Claude API): For natural language processing and insight generation.
- OpenAI (Embeddings): For semantic analysis and pattern clustering.
- Supabase (PostgreSQL): For secure data storage and authentication.
- RevenueCat: For processing subscriptions and managing entitlements.
- PostHog: For product analytics (privacy-preserving).
- Sentry: For error monitoring and crash reporting.
4.2 Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with legal obligations.
5. AI Processing & Privacy
Our App relies heavily on Artificial Intelligence.
- Data Processing: Your text entries are sent to AI providers (Anthropic and OpenAI) for real-time analysis.
- No Training: We request that our AI providers do not use your personal behavioral data to train their general models. Your data is used solely to provide your personalized Tare experience.
6. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures, including:
- Row Level Security (RLS): Ensuring that you, and only you, can access your specific behavioral data.
- Encryption: Data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
7. Your Choices & Rights
- Access & Correction: You can view and edit your profile and habit data within the App.
- Data Export: You may request an export of your behavioral diary and check-in history.
- Deletion: You can delete your account and all associated data at any time through the App settings.
- Push Notifications: You can opt-out of notifications at the device level or within App settings.
8. Children’s Privacy
Tare is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the new policy in the App and updating the “Last Updated” date.
