Terms and Conditions for Tare

Please read these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) carefully before using the Tare mobile application (the “App”) operated by Tare (“us,” “we,” or “our”).
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the terms, you may not access the App.
2. Use of the App
2.1 Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age to use Tare. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement.
2.2 Account Responsibility
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and password and for restricting access to your device. You agree to accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account.
2.3 Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to:
- Use the App for any illegal or unauthorized purpose.
- Attempt to hack, destabilize, or adapt the App or its underlying AI models.
- Input sensitive medical information; Tare is a habit intelligence tool, not a medical or behavioral health service.
3. Subscriptions and Payments
3.1 Tiers
Tare offers a Free tier and a Pro tier. The Pro tier provides access to additional features (e.g., tracking up to 3 habits, advanced AI insights).
3.2 Billing
Subscriptions are managed via RevenueCat and processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. You agree to abide by the terms of the respective App Store.
3.3 Refunds
Refunds are handled by the respective App Store according to their policies.
4. Content and AI Insights
4.1 Your Content
You retain all rights to the text and data you input into the App. You grant Tare a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, process, and analyze your content solely to provide the services described in the App.
4.2 AI-Generated Insights
Insights, weekly syntheses, and nudges are generated by Artificial Intelligence. While we strive for accuracy, these insights are provided “AS IS” and should be used as a tool for self-reflection, not as absolute fact or professional advice.
5. Disclaimers
5.1 Not Medical Advice
Tare is NOT a medical device or a substitute for professional mental health or behavioral health care. If you are experiencing a crisis or need medical assistance, please consult a qualified professional.
5.2 “As Is” Basis
The App is provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis. We make no warranties, expressed or implied, regarding the App’s operation or the information and content provided.
6. Limitation of Liability
In no event shall Tare, nor its directors, employees, or partners, be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the App.
7. Intellectual Property
The App and its original content (excluding user-provided data), features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of Tare and its licensors.
8. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account and bar access to the App immediately, without prior notice or liability, under our sole discretion, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation a breach of the Terms.
9. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the company is incorporated, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
10. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. We will provide at least 30 days’ notice prior to any new terms taking effect.
